What is Power Pitch?
Power Pitch is a forum held at the Bakersfield Women’s Business Conference where women entrepreneurs and women-owned businesses and startups have the opportunity to pitch their business or idea to win monetary prizes to invest in their business.

How does Power Pitch Work?
- Power Pitch hopefuls must complete an application. If you need help on your application, please contact us through email.
- A panel of judges will choose our 5 finalists.
- Pitch practice is held on February 27, 2025.
- Pitches will be delivered before BWBC.
- Three winners will be announced on Conference Day in the closing session.
Who Can Apply?
Applications are open to women-owned businesses & women entrepreneurs headquartered in Kern County including:
- New businesses or a business looking to expand.
- Entrepreneurs that have a business idea but have not started their business.
- Applicants must be 18 years or older.
- Applicants may not be associated with BWBC.
How do I Apply?
We suggest reviewing the application ahead of time to make sure you have an answer to each question. Strong applications include an outlined strategic business plan, a logo, and financial documents including a Profit & Loss Statement for the last three years. Please note, finalists must purchase a discounted BWBC ticket to attend on Conference Day.

2021 1st Place: Mix Salon & Touch Up Bar
2020 looked a lot different for hairstylists, including Leticia, owner of Mix Salon & Touch Up Bar. How could she pivot her business and continue to grow in her industry? Hand-tied extensions became her next step. Not only does she provide Pinterest-worthy extensions to her clients, but she trains & teaches other professionals how to do them, too.
2021 2nd Place: HoneyBox Bakersfield
Cheese lovers, HoneyBox Bakersfield is your place! They specialize in hand-curated charcuterie boxes & boards and recently opened a storefront in Bakersfield. 2021 3rd Place: Lollipopa Box, LLC
Founded by 6-year-old Savannah in 2018, Lollipopa, LLC delivers exciting birthday unboxing experiences to little girls ages 3 to 9 to inspire them to believe in a world of possibility. Lollipopa’s products & services spark imagination, nurture a playful spirit, embrace femininity, and show life’s endless possibilities to young girls at a pivotal stage in their life.

2019 1st Place: Cream Craze
Cream Craze’s goal is to provide a mobile service that builds custom homemade ice cream sandwiches for any occasion. Customers can build their own sandwich by choosing their homemade cookie, homemade ice cream, and toppings.
2019 2nd Place: Hidey Socks

2019 3rd Place: Phoenix Wood
Phoenix Wood sells wooden wine boxes directly to wineries using pinewood derived from CA wildfires. Producing these wine boxes gives purpose, sustainability, and “life” to otherwise deadwood.
