Amy Purdy

Amy Purdy has defied the odds throughout her life to accomplish some extraordinary things.

She grew up with a passion for snowboarding and travel, and despite fighting for her life and losing both of her legs below the knees to bacterial meningitis at the age of 19, her passion for life carried her not only to the upper echelons of athletics but to the dance floor of Hollywood and beyond.

Amy is a professional snowboarder and a three-time Paralympic medalist, making her the most decorated Paralympic snowboarder in US history.

Bryan Terrell Clark

Bryan Terrell Clark is an accomplished actor and singer/songwriter who has performed in widely successful Broadway & TV shows. You may recognize him from his role as George Washington in “Hamilton” in 2019 or as Marvin Gaye in “Motown: The Musical,” which received a Grammy nomination for “Best Musical Theater Album.” Bryan has also appeared in TNT’s “Snowpiercer,” Netflix’s “Inventing Anna,” and “Sneakerella” on Disney+. He’s performed with artists like Maxwell, Brandy, Ne-Yo, Anita Baker, and Michael Bublé. In addition to performing, Bryan co-founded inDEFINED, an initiative that inspires & teaches young people to use their voice to erase constructive labels in our society. Workshop Speakers

BWBC Workshop Speakers present on a variety of topics to help attendees hone in on their strengths and develop new skills. We will have 10 in-person and 10 virtual workshops. Attendees can choose 2 workshops to attend in person on Conference Day. All Attendees have access to our virtual workshops for 6 months after the conference.

Power Pitch

Power Pitch is a forum held at the Bakersfield Women’s Business Conference where entrepreneurs, local businesses, startups, and side-hustles have the opportunity to pitch their business or idea to win monetary prizes to invest in their business. For Power Pitch 2022, we’ve partnered with Kern Venture Group and KITE (Kern Initiative for Talent + Entrepreneurship).

Applications open on January 10, 2022. Any business headquartered in Kern County, CA can apply, including new businesses, businesses looking to expand, or entrepreneurs with a business idea.
